Providing Quality Services

SWU members want to do work that we can be proud of. Whether we work in a school cafeteria or in a hospital, at a nursing home or a public building, the work we do affects people's lives.

Sometimes the only square meal a child gets is the lunch they receive at school, and SWU members want to make sure that meal is healthy and safe. Hospital janitors are the first line of defense against illness and infection, and take that responsibility seriously.

Wherever you go--whether it's an elementary school, a university, a stadium, a corporate cafeteria, a hospital, a laundry, or a nursing home--it's likely that there's a worker from one of the "Big 3" outsourcing companies there to greet you.

We know it works best for everyone when those workers make a good wage, and have health benefits and sick days. Ensuring good jobs with health care means that workers can afford to stay on the job longer, gain experience, and provide the type of top-notch service we all expect.
